About the author

My name’s Connor. I’m based sort-of near London in the UK.

I first picked up a guitar around the end of 2007, when I was twelve. Since then, I have mostly been dedicating my life to making an enormous amount of noise, playing as many different notes on as many different guitars as possible, and also making sure I have as much hair as possible.

I like to rock.

I work as a session musician both live and in the studio, as a guitar teacher and as a product demonstrator. I gig quite a lot, on electric and acoustic and occasionally bass too.

In terms of the actual music I play, I suppose I can sum it up thus – rock music is the centre of everything, and always has been, but I am always committed to expanding outwards in every direction – no genre is really off limits. So I’ll listen to, and play (or attempt to play), just about anything. That sort of carries through to my taste in guitars, so if you see me extolling the virtues of fanned-fret 8-strings one minute and Danelectros the next, don’t be too surprised.

I do actually have some other interests as well, although music takes up so much of my time that they sometimes don’t get as much of a look-in. I’m just mentioning them so you get the impression that I’m a normal and rounded human being and not a dried-out shell of a man whose spirit has been entirely possessed and consumed by The Guitar.

Those other interests include cars and watches (see, normal blokey bloke things!), but also modernist architecture and interior design – particularly 1950s-70s “midcentury”, if that means anything to you. And I have a faintly absurd collection of houseplants, including a gigantic devil’s ivy which I’m starting to think might actually be planning to take over the entire room and suffocate me in my sleep.

This blog will mainly be about guitars but some of those topics might creep in every now and then. I was about to say “I hope that’s ok”, then I realised that this is My Blog, so it IS ok.

I hope you enjoy reading this. Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you want to chat about what you see on here, or just to shower me with praise. I’m pretty amenable to such things.
